Relations between France and the UAE are strengthening by the day. Major projects in the fields of culture, higher education, security, energy were launched during the French President's visit in January 2008. Industrial and commercial prospects have also appeared in strategic areas.

This special relationship and the major projects involving France, such as Louvre Abu Dhabi or Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, have raised the expectations towards France of our Emirati friends and partners: they want to see an increased French presence and visibility in Abu Dhabi. On the other hand, the willingness of French people to learn more about the UAE is sincere and strong.

To respond to those expectations, the French Embassy and the French Business Group, in partnership with all actors of the France-UAE alliance, are organising a "French Season" in Abu Dhabi this May 2009. Prestigious events are meant to reflect the excellency, diversity and dynamism of the relations between France and the UAE.

Those events are organised in prestigious and highly visible places so as to mobilise the widest possible audience. Sponsorship at the highest possible level has also been soughts.

The whole Season is a momentous occasion for the further strengthening of the friendship between our two great countries.
